No antibiotics. Ever.

Not once, not at birth, not as a precaution. If a lamb has ever been treated with antibiotics for a medical need, it leaves the program and is never delivered to us. No growth promotants, no added hormones, no grain. Every ranch that supplies us signs an annual affidavit to these standards, keeps records we can check, and gets a visit. That is the whole promise behind every box with our name on it.

Raised the slow way. Delivered on schedule.

Our lambs have access to pasture and rangeland their entire lives on mother's milk and forage. No grain, no antibiotics, and no growth promotants. Ever.

Every ranch that supplies us signs an annual affidavit to these standards and keeps records we can check, and we visit. Lambs not born on the supplying ranch are traced back to their birth farm, and the birth farm's affidavit travels with them.

Carcasses are processed and cut under USDA inspection at a Willamette Valley plant, then delivered chilled by us on a refrigerated truck. We target a 55 to 100 pound hot carcass, the size that cuts consistently for a case, a menu or a butcher counter.

Pasture and rangeland, every day of their lives.

One exception, and it is for the lambs: in the first few days after birth, a ewe and her lambs may be brought into a small pen in the barn, long enough to get the lambs on their feet and bonded with their mother. Then it is back out to pasture.

Wholesale lamb for distributors, grocers and kitchens.

One source, one standard, one truck a week. We work with customers to ensure they are getting the cuts that they need!

Distributors: standing weekly volume, consistent carcass size, and paperwork that keeps your buyers happy: USDA inspection, affidavit-backed raising claims, and certificates of insurance on request.

Grocers and butchers: whole carcasses or primals for the counter, with a grass-fed Oregon story your customers will pay for. Ask about case-ready cuts.

Restaurants: We work with purveyors that service Seattle to San Diego - let us know if you are interested in working together and we’ll find the logistics to make it happen!

Service area: Our local delivery services the central Willamette valley, but our connections reach to almost anywhere. Feel free to reach out if you’re remotely interested and let’s have a conversation about how to meet your needs.

Built in Scio, for Oregon ranchers and the people who cook their lamb.

Pacific Meadows Lamb Company is owned and run by Ben Stackhouse from Scio, in the Willamette Valley. Ben has spent the last eight years of his career selling Oregon grass-fed lamb to distributors, grocers and chefs. He started Pacific Meadows to do one thing well: pay ranchers a fair, published price and deliver a consistent lamb every week to his customers.

We are a small company on purpose. You will talk to the person who bought the lambs, scheduled the plant and drove the truck. If something is wrong with an order, that same person fixes it.

"The rancher should know what the lamb is worth before it leaves the pasture, and the buyer should know what is on the truck before it arrives." Ben Stackhouse, owner
